An extension of last year’s successful “Dialogues” program, our winter concert will showcase the famed Missa O Magnum Mysterium by the mystical Renaissance-era composer Tomás Luis de Victoria alongside an array of a cappella gems by Janet Wheeler, André J. Thomas, Nathaniel Dett, Valentin Silvestrov, Amy Summers, Rosephanye Powell, Adolphus Hailstork, Eslon Hindundu and Zanaida Robles.

An intimate “night of song” brings together our talented GVCS members with special guests in a salon-styled fundraiser to benefit the long-term growth of our organization. Works of Samuel Barber, Francis Poulenc and others will be heard in various combinations of our musical forces while drinks and hors d’oeuvres are served.

Ein Deutsches Requiem

Our final concert of the season features the timeless Brahms Requiem in the arrangement for one piano, four hands. Celebrated pianists Amir Farid and K. Scott Warren will join a performance filled with nuance and intricacy to reflect the deep human emotion embedded within this supremely beautiful powerful work of art.
