Music of Brahms, Duruflé, Rossi, Cesis, Powell and more
Our final concert for the season will place the Romantic musical language of Brahms’ Zigeunerlieder alongside motets by Maurice Duruflé, Salamone Rossi, Sister Sulpitia Cesis, and Rosephanye Powell. This concert will also feature a commissioned set of pieces by David Avshalomov on themes of water and the environment.

Our Lady of Pompeii Church
Our inaugural concert for this new era in our history presents Magnificat!, featuring J.S. Bach’s immortal Magnificat cantata with full orchestra, soloists, and the seldom performed Christmas Interpolations. Themes of birth and renewal will be explored through the Victoria and Lauridsen settings of O magnum mysterium, the Sweelinck Hodie Christus Natus Est, works by Adolphus Hailstork, Elizabeth Poston and Ola Gjeilo, plus arrangements of Christmas favorites.
